During the past
12 years, Phil has provided a variety of services
and supports to consumers with developmental disabilities.
This has included providing direct care assistance
and support, assisting children in elementary
through high school special education programs,
and providing vocational training and job support
and management of two-day treatment programs.
At Counseling & Consulting Services, Phil
provides progressive relaxation training, individual
counseling services and anger management group
counseling services to consumers with developmental
disabilities.
Phil is committed to assisting
consumers and their care providers with developing
and implementing individualized strategies to
reduce the occurrence of problematic behaviors
that interfere with an individual's ability to
fully participate in desirable activities in the
community (e.g., employment, education, social
events, etc.) In doing so, Phil provides positive
behavioral support consultation and training to
family members and other care providers (e.g.,
direct care staff, school teaching staff, etc.)
and works collaboratively with other professionals
(e.g., psychiatrists, medical doctors, nutritionists,
neurologists, occupational therapists, etc.) to
assure that consumers' needs are being fully recognized
and addressed as effectively as possible.
