| Counseling & Consulting
Services (CCS) has made available an internship
opportunity for doctoral level graduate students
in the field of psychology. The diversity of the
CCS practice makes this internship opportunity
particularly versatile in matching a wide array
of interests held by doctoral students who need
to find an internship site to fulfill doctoral
or masters level internship requirements. CCS
staff represents a wide spectrum of specialties
providing services to typical, seriously mentally
ill, and developmentally disabled populations.
Within those populations, clients range in age
from infancy to an elderly age, and all age levels
in-between. CCS clinical staff specialties cover
virtually most, if not all, services typically
needed by the three populations previously mentioned.
The first internship position at CCS was held
by Octavio Molera. Asked how he selected CCS for
his internship program, he said:
"The program at Counseling & Consulting
Services offers a wide variety of functional areas.
It is a rich training venue with enough exposure
to a variety of specialties to facilitate the
eventual selection of an area of specialization."
The internship program at CCS is an added attraction
to Masters or Doctoral level graduate students
needing a high quality internship site. Future
plans for the doctoral internship may include
membership in the Arizona Psychology Consortium,
which is a member of the Association of Psychology
Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC), a
prestigious national organization. Affiliation
with APPIC provides psychology professionals with
numerous advantages in job searches and with licensure
interstate relocations.
